UNI-KIT CHIP RESETTER FOR CANON CLI-8 / PGI-5

The OEM Canon CLI8 and PGI5 cartridges have chips, which serve to monitor the ink levels and to provide an on-screen message of “empty” when the ink levels run out. Our CHIP RESETTER allows you to restore the ink level monitoring function, and thereby override the “empty” or “out of ink” messages after you have refilled and reset your cartridge. This resetter is designed and guaranteed to reset the ORIGINAL Canon chips, but may not work on compatible (generic brand) chips.
This CHIP RESETTER is versatile: It will automatically identify the cartridge model and detect whether the chip on the cartridge is in a good state or not, then reset the chip. Since it is operated by a small replaceable battery, the number of resets it can offer is unlimited.
The following OEM (original brand Canon) cartridge chips can be reset:
PGI-5BK, CLI-8BK, CLI-8C, CLI-8M, CLI-8Y, CLI-8PC, CLI-8PM
Corresponding printer models:
PIXMA IP3300/PIXMA IP3500/PIXMA IP4200/PIXMA IP4300/PIXMA IP4500/PIXMA IP5200/PIXMA IP5200R/PIXMA IP6600D/PIXMA IP6700D/PIXMA MP500/PIXMA MP510/PIXMA MP520/PIXMA MP530/PIXMA MP600/PIXMA MP610/PIXMA MP800/PIXMA MP800R/PIXMA MP810/PIXMA
MP830/PIXMA MP950/PIXMA MP960/PIXMA MP970/PIXMA
MX700/ PIXMA MX850/ IX4000/ IX5000/PIXMA Pro9000 and more

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Slide the cartridge (with chip facing the CHIP RESETTER) into the guide. Use the loose adapter guide for the CLI8 cartridges (which are thinner), or without the adapter guide for the thicker PGI5 cartridges.

2. Push the cartridge down to ensure that the chip touches the contact plate. You will first get a short split second flash of the red LED light - this signals that good contact has been made. Keep holding the cartridge down. What will follow is a continuous red LED light that will last for 2-3 seconds. This indicates that the resetting has been successful.

3. You can now remove the cartridge from the resetter.

TROUBLESHOOTING:
If the LED light does not flash solid red for 2-3 seconds:
a). The pins of the resetter may not be making good contact with the chip b). The cartridge or chip you are attempting to reset may not be original Canon
c). The battery cell in the CANON RESETTER may be spent
