I ordered your refill kit for my c3400n printer. I filled up my high yield toner cartridges, but when I turned my printer back on the color cartridges still displayed 50% full and my black cartridge still displayed 80% full.

They are not starter cartridges
PN:43459304 - Black
PN:43459303 - Cyan
PN:43459301 - Yellow
PN:43459302 - Magenta

It is said in the discription that

"Note: Starter cartridges cannot be refilled (they will not be accepted by the printer as the printer will "remember" them as having been empty, even after you refill them). This problem does not occur with replacement cartridges, so it is only recommended that you refill REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGES. What is a starter cartridge? It is the cartridge that comes with the printer when you first purchase the printer. Any cartridge bought separate to the printer is a replacement cartridge, and can be successfully refilled."

What can be done to fix my problem?

Rob

robs4uf,

We see quite a few people who run into this problem in trying to refill ink cartridges. Yeah, you can replace the chip which will fix the problem for now, but you're not guaranteed against future mechanical cartridge failure. If your cartridge does fail (basically just from use) you'll lose all the toner you refilled it with.

A lot of people who don't want to buy OEM are switching to new compatible cartridges, which I'm sure you're aware of. You should check out our Oki C3400 site at WEBSITEom/oki-c3400n-toner.htm to find out more about c3400 compatibles.

Thanks!
Tom
