|
|
Hi,
I just purchased the Uni-Kits refill for a Dell 3100cn printer. The instructions were pretty poor to say the least especially about the 2nd plastic cap that I found blocking the fill hole which turned out that you need tiny plyers to remove it. Anyway after refilling the cyan cartridge and replacing all the caps, I put it back in my printer and the on-board LCD on the printer still says my cyan is low - Replace soon. I checked the printer utility on my comp and it says my cyan is only at 10%. What's going on? Will it still print to its full capacity yield or just die out after 10% is gone?

| The Dell 3100 doesn't require a replacement chip. It will continue printing even though the reporting function will report that the toner is out or low. |

Most refill companies sell chips for each toner color at $9.99 to $13.99 each. Some even include the chips with the refills kits at very little cost. _________________ Kent McDonald |

Before installing the refilled cartridge, you need to change a setting on the printer so that it will accept the refilled cartridge.
You need to first press on the “MENU” button on the LCD display of your printer.
Next, select “CONFIGURE”
Next, select “MAINTENANCE”
In the 'Maintenance Menu', click YES when you scroll to the option 'Non-Dell Setting". It will then read Non-Dell Toner. Now the printer has been reset and will accept the refilled cartridge. Simply turn the printer off, then back on and the reset procedure is complete.
Just did it and it works on the 3100cn _________________ WALTER |
