I refilled my Canon Pixma MX 300 cartridges with a refill kit from 123refills.com. Everything went as shown in the directions and I experienced no problems. The black is printing OK, but the color is not printing and neither cartridge registers as full--they both register as empty. I don't know what to do next. _________________ Mary Lynch |

Refilling cartridges does not change the ink level your printer remembers. Your printer works with the chip on the cartridge. If the chip on the cartridge is telling the printer that it remembers being empty, then that's what it'll display. This however should not effect your printing.
Your printer will print when the status is showing empty. It may display a few errors, telling you to change the cartridge but you can try over coming this. Try the following bypass instructions.
1. Hold down the reset/stop button for about 10-15 seconds.
2. Allow the printer to go through its initialization
3. If the error is still not allowing you to print remove the cartridge from the printer
4. Unplug the printer from the back (both power cord and USB cord)
5. Leave the printer unplugged for about 10-15 min
6. Plug everything back in after the time has passed
7. Start printer
8. Install the cartridge and restart printer
If the colors are not printing after you refill it. Try running a few print head cleanings from your maintenance tab. This should help clear up the problem. |
