If you notice horizontal bars on the back of your printed pages (when printing with the HP 4600 color laserjet), consider the following possible problem:
The HP 4600 color laserjet printer uses an Electrostatic Transfer Belt to move the paper through each cartridge before it prints to the paper.
On the bottom of the HP 4600 toner cartridge you will notice small plastic tabs that stick out about 1/2 cm (there are 4 total tabs, 2 on either side of the bottom of the cartridge).
If any of these plastic tab is broken off, toner will pass to the transfer belt at improper moments and and paper that may be passing through the belt at those moments will pick up toner and this will result in unexpected horizontal bands being printed either partially or completely all across the back of the page.
There is no solution for broken tabs, a new cartridge should be bought. |
