I've a 5 yr old CLP510N and replaced the drum and transfer belt last summer. It worked great till about 2 months ago when I installed a "compatible" black cpl510D7K black cartridge. About a week or so later the very right edge of prints showed a light faded edge. Now, about 6 weeks later prints show fading to past the center of the page and is totally unreadable on the right hand edge. The toner supplier said it has to be my drum which is almost brand new to me. Also the fading started right after the cartridge installation. Has anyone experienced this type of fading??? Could a drum go bad after 8 months of use???? Thanks help |

hello,
it can go bad quickly but i would put in a new oem cartridge so that you can rule out whether it really is the drum.
