| [quote]I buuy a kit for refill my old cartridges (hp3500 color laser) and the first problem is that the printer doesnt want to recognize the cartridge after I fill the cartridge and I change the old smart chip. The second problem is that the cartridge is leaking the ink. I have this problem with the black and magenta cartridges. What I have to do to avoid the leaking? I have to know exactly where I have to do the hole because I do the Hole in the center of the cartridge and I dont know is this matter? |

For Proper Functioning HP 3500/3700 Replacement Chips:
The chips are a supply memory only. This means that when the predetermined number of prints is soon reached it sends a signal to the printer, which in turn tells the computer that the cartridge needs replacing.
When a new or refilled cartridge is installed in the printer, the sensors located on the cartridge that connect with the printer measures the amount of toner in the cartridge. If the level of toner is lower than the predetermined amount that the printer is accustomed to then it will record the amount of toner that is determined to be in the cartridge.
So in other words, if a cartridge is filled to 50% and is installed in the printer, the sensor will measure the toner at 50% and that’s the amount recorded on the chip.
Please make sure that the cartridge is filled to maximum so that when the printer performs the measuring of toner it will record the level of toner as maximum on the chip. This will eliminate any error messages or toner low messages.
I have also found that some customers are testing the chip by placing the cartridge into the printer before filling which of course is recoridng empty toner levels since the sensor was unable to detect any toner in the cartridge.
Let customers know to be sure to follow all steps to ensure proper functioning chips.
As for the leaking, please check your filling hole to make sure that it is sealed properly.

| I make the hole in the center of the cartridge and I close it very well. The cartridge is leaking toner by the front of the cartridge when I put the cartridge inside the printer by the inclination of the cartridge. I want to know if the hole has to be in an specific place and where is located this place so I can fix this problem. |
