The cleaning and refilling instructions for a Lexmark 12A1970 black cartridge state that I should fill it with 8 ml of cleaner, print 5 test pages, and than fill with 20 ml of ink. I'm afraid to try this. 8 ml sounds like alot of fluid cleaner. 5 sheets printing sounds like too few to empty the cleaner. You refer to a recommended test page.. This link does not work. Could you please advise further.

Hello,
In most cases 8ml's is a lot however when dealing with Lexamrk's infamous shoe polish think black ink you must use this much just to be anb;e to remove the build up that occurs on top of the filter just above the printhead. Since the cleaning fluid is quite soluble, 5 test pages will be able remove the build up and the excess fluid. As for the broken link. Please try again. |
