Register Log in  Canon MX870 not recognizing aftermarket chips          InkTelligent (tm) Forum Index -> Canon inkjets Author Message : Canon MX870 not recognizing aftermarket chips inkfiller Professional Support Joined: 10 Nov 2008 Posts: 106 Posted: Fri Aug 20, 2010 8:42 pm    Post subject: Canon MX870 not recognizing aftermarket chips Users of the Canon MX870 inkjet printer might receive a message from printer or computer stating that the cartridges (Canon PGI220 / CLI221) are not recognized by the Canon MX870 printer after using the cartridge for several days. This is an uncommon occurence, and appears to be only happening with the Canon MX870 printer at this time (other PGI220 / CLI221 based inkjet printers by Canon do not seem to have this problem). To resolve this problem, turn off and then again turn on the printer - or reinstall the cartridge. Our chip manufacturer is working on updated chip solution right now. We will inform you once we have further information. Thank you very much.
