I have an error code of: print unable 3b. I can't get it to reset or anything. The manual says to call the service center. HELP!

When did you get this error? What was the last thing you did?

My son was using his laptop and printing a word document and pulled the usb cord out of the computer BEFORE it had stopped spooling to the printer. He reinserted the cord, but it wouldn't print anymore. We did what it said to do, turn off. I also unplugged it. I uninstalled the software. No change, just "unable print 3B". I had two days left on the warranty. I called Brother, as all of the 'authorized' places didn't even want to talk to me. They sent me a replacement one. I can now get an extended warranty for $179 for two years. I have 30 days to decide as they extended the warranty that long for the replacement machine. I would still like to know if there was anything I could do, just in case it happens again. Thanks
