HP Color Laser 5500

I've been having trouble refilling not only the black but the color cartridges in this printer for some time now. I'll do a test page of solid black or color (depending on which cart I'm refilling) before I refill the cart. for the 1st time, and it'll print solid and perfect down the page. Once I refill it (through the little white plug on the side of the cart), the print won't look nearly as good afterwards. it'll look very light in some areas on the page, when I print the same test page of solid black or color.
I know the cart was good before I refilled. and I emptied out the old toner before I refilled as well. What could I be doing wrong?

Hello,

This cartridge is not refilled through the hole on the side. This may explain your print problems.

So, I can burn a hole in the bottom and refill it that way?
I've also tried refilling it through the bottom as well (according to your instructions that only detail other HP color lasers, not the 5500 series), with similar problems in the quality - streaking, lines, etc.
Maybe I'm burning the hole in the wrong location?

Hello. I bought the uni-refill kit, used the CD to find the refill hole placement photo, and found it is not shown. Is there a photo or description available?

ALSO, 1 of the cartridges is leaking toner by the roller. Is this just from tilting it (since it normally hangs), or has a part worn out, and i now have a dead cartridge?

Instructions to refill HP 5500 Laser Printer Cartridge :
--------------------------------------------------------------

1- firstly remove label from top of cartridge & attach needle to syringe,
extract old ink from each color, and discard

2- Load syringe with appropriate ink.

3- Set the cartridge on news paper or paper towel so the print head is in
contact with the paper.

4- Insert needle into correct cartridge ink hole ; use center hole for black
ink & make sure needle reaches to bottom of cart.

5- inject the ink slowely into the cartridge until full & Stop if the ink
begins to well up from the fill hole.

6- Clean off top of cartridge, un-tape the next fill hole and tape over the
one just filled. Do not re-use tape.

Repeat steps 4, 5, 6 until all colors have been injected.

When we write a document with help of these cartridges you don't have any problem with ink.
