1. Locate the end piece as shown below left (usually BLACK, RED, YELLOW or BLUE in color). You need to push in the two “prongs” (small grey prongs located inside the black end-piece as shown to the left of the picture below), and simultaneously pull the end piece away from the cartridge. This exposes the filling hole.
2. Next pour the toner into the cartridge slowly and when the cartridge is full.
3. Now you need to replace the end-cap by pushing it back into place, making sure that the end-cap and prongs are now situated the same was as they were before.
4. Gently shake the toner cartridge to ensure that the toner is distributed evenly inside the cartridge.
5. Before installing the refilled cartridge, you need to change a setting on the printer so that it will accept the refilled cartridge. You need to first press on the “MENU” button on the LCD display of your printer.
6. Next, select “CONFIGURE”
7. Next, select “MAINTENANCE”
8. In the 'Maintenance Menu', click YES when you scroll to the option 'Non-Dell Setting". It will then read Non-Dell Toner. Now the printer has been reset and will accept the refilled cartridge. Simply turn the printer off, then back on and the reset procedure is complete.
9. Insert the refilled cartridge |
